Welcome

The 8th CIRP Conference on High Performance Cutting (HPC 2018) will be held in Budapest, Hungary, where scientists, researchers and industrial partners can present the latest results and the cutting edge technology in the field of cutting and manufacturing technology.

The breath taking venue of the Pesti Vigadó at the Danube bank is a perfect place to continue the tradition of providing an international forum to exchange the new ideas in the community of the HPC conferences.

According to the traditions of HPC conferences, the scientific program will be structured to numerous Mini-Symposia on major and challenging pre-defined topics. These are organized by well-recognized researchers.

We hope to welcome as many of you as possible in Budapest at this conference in order to share and improve our knowledge in the diverse fields of manufacturing technologies.

Topics

  • Machining of metallic and non-metallic materials; Hybrid machining; Precision machining
  • Die and mold machining; Mechanics and dynamics of material removal processes
  • Residual stress and damage of finished surfaces due to cutting; Abrasive processes
  • Spindel technology, models, tuning and testing; Machine design, structures and configurations
  • CAD / CAM systems and strategies for high performance cutting; Control of multi-axis machine tools
  • Cutting tool materials, tool design and tool performance; Intelligent tooling; Metrology and measurement
  • Monitoring and control of machining operations; Sustainable manufacturing processes
  • Non-conventional machining; Machining of difficult-to-cut materials
  • Environmental aspects of the design and operation of machine tools
