Organizers provide 4 workshop topics for the participants, please find below their short descriptions. Please note that the participant’s number is limited to 30 per workshop.
Airway Management / Difficult Airway
Moderator: Tamás Vető, MD (Hungary)
This workshop gives the participants an opportunity to practice the use of a variety of difficult airway management tools on airway manikins and have a better understanding of their use. All stations are manned by proficient instructors working at one of Budapest’s largest tertiary referral centers, the Military Hospital. Each group of 5 participants will have 30 minutes at each stations.
Workshop stations:
I. Front of neck access techniques: scalpel - bougie - tube, fine bore needle access, large bore cannula access (30’)
II. Fiberoptic intubation under general anaesthesia - fiberoptic intubation via LMA, using a tube exchange catheter (30’)
III. Awake fiberoptic intubation - focus on providing local anaesthesia of the airway (30’)
IV. Supraglottic airways, the intubating laryngeal mask and videolaryngoscopes (30’)
Reanimation
Moderator: Zoltán Bakó, MD (Hungary)
This small group workshop aiming to improve the skills of the medical staff in peri-arrest situations. The situations are realistic clinical scenarios, wich are able to highligt the alarming signs of the critically ill patiens. Along the workshop we both practice to recognize and treat those patient , based on the current reanimation guidelines. Along the course the participant could try themselves in different clinical cases as a mebmer of the resuscition team, are able to learn the guidelines, the structure of different ER teams, and also practice the practical skills as using a defibrillator or AED and reanimation phantoms.
Regional Anesthesia
Moderator: Gabriella Iohom, MD, EDAIC, FCAI, PhD (Ireland)
This 2-hour regional anaesthesia workshop focuses on supervised hands-on needling practice and ultrasound scanning of relevant structures. It capitalises on a low participant: instructor ratio (6:1) and real time performance feedback.
Workstations include spinal and epidural needle placement in a phantom, live model ultrasound scanning of the spine, peripheral nerves and fascial planes, as well as hand-eye coordination and needling skill practice in a gelatine phantom.

At the end of this workshop, participants would have acquired knowledge of imaging and needling techniques for select regional anaesthesia procedures (both neuraxial and peripheral).
Haemostasis – Point-of-care

Participants in this session will gain an understanding of conventional and cell-based model of hemostasis with detailed aspects of global and organ specific hemostasis.
Differential hemostasis management based on factor concentrates and allogenic blood products

In this presentation participants will review the treatment possibilities with the coagulation factor concentrates first to prevent and reduce the bleed, secondly to treat mild to moderate bleeding, finally they will gain an understanding of treatment of massive bleeding with the combination of factor concentrates and allogenic blood products.
Current guidelines

Participants in this session will review the latest guidelines on management of major bleeding and coagulopathy in OR, the coagulation relation of regional anesthesia will be emphasized as well.
Bleeding complication and perioperative antithrombotics, anticoagulants

Participants in this session will learn about the update in the management of perioperative management of anticoagulants, particularly the recent progress in the development of specific reversal agents of direct oral anticoagulants.
Point of care devices: TEG, ROTEM, TAG… when, what, how and plasma plus coagulation factor training
